Digital Signage - The Rejuvenating Factor of Retail Industry

A point when the whole world is hit by recession, everyone wants to know what can be done to save their business; Digital Signage seems to be the answer. LG had recently conducted a show in Amsterdam and found out that Digital Signage - a catalyst that boosts the retail industry, which can pull up your business even during recession.

About 79% of the respondents of the poll believed that digital display technologies would be a very important way, in the coming year, to rejuvenate the high street. 32% of the sample of the poll believed that retailers will be finding newer ways to offer better after sales service. A smaller percentage of about 17% thought, town centres will soon become social hubs, flooded with eye-catching digital displays, which would boost businesses. Digital displays are cost-effective way to advertise your products, and thus digital signage has the potential to increase the retail spending of the industry.

However there are certain things to worry about still. There are no clear concepts of the ROI or Return on Investment. There also is a hindrance of incorporating the newer systems, into their already existing and accessible infrastructure.

Luc Grare, the director of LG, Europe, said: "These figures underscore widespread belief in the power and impact of digital signage in the high street. They also confirm what we have thought for some time - that in a tough retail environment, digital technology that can inform, advice and entertain their customers is going to give that retailer a competitive edge."

Luc Grare's division of Business services which was scheduled before the launch of the LG SuperSign, is aspiring that the product to be placed at the small and the medium sized retailers. This combines a third of European market of the new digital signage. He also added that, "These smaller retailers need the same quality, reliability and ease of use from their displays as larger organizations but at lower costs. LG's long understanding of this market is behind the development of the simple, powerful and cost effective display tools we have introduced."
